Caramelised banana and cocoa nibs vegan porridge

Cocoa nibs, if you haven’t tried them you haven’t lived. They’re rich dark chocolate, so dark they almost taste buttery, they make any porridge game 100% stronger. They’re sugar free, high in magnesium and essentially a superfood. Go grab some, y’all won’t regret it.

Chuck a caramelised banana on the top of some porridge and you’ll stay full till lunch, it’s a great pre-training meal too.


ingredients: serves 1

  • 4 tbsp oats
  • 3/4 cup water/vegan milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cocoa nibs
  • 1 banana

What to do:

  1. Combine oats and milk/water in a pan with the cinnamon. Heat and stir until as thick as you like it.
  2. Simultaneously add a sliced banana onto a hot non stick pan and cook the banana slices on each side until they sizzle slices and get a bit of colour, then flip and do the same on the reverse side. It takes about 2 minutes per side.
  3. Put porridge in a bowl and top with banana and cocoa nibs.
